Floral protest against USCIS
Posted in Immigration by admin at 1:06 pm |

It seems DHL had to schedule larger trucks to deliver the huge number of floral packages to USCIS :)

Message from USCIS Director Emilio Gonzalez

I understand that individuals are planning to send flowers to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) beginning on Tuesday, July 10. USCIS has made arrangements to forward those flowers to our injured service members recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and at Bethesda Naval Hospital.

immigrationvoice.org responds to this

We welcome the fact that Dr. Gonzalez acknowledged the symbolic gesture of our protest and are overjoyed that these flowers will brighten the day of our injured service brethren. It is their sacrifice for American freedom that has made this country great and such a desirable destination for multitude of people from around the world. We also want to convey to all the service personnel at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and at Bethesda Naval Hospital that our message accompanying those flowers is;
“Thank You and God Bless You”.

IV also notes that despite the reuters article mentioning it as an “indian effort”, members from other countries affected also participated in this.

Immigration Voice Represents All Nationalities: Although the recent Reuters article mentions the flower campaign as an “Indian” effort, the flowers were sent by nationals of numerious countries to USCIS and this organization represents all nationals affected by visa backlogs and the visa bulletin fiasco. Immigration Voice recognizes and appreciates the contributions and participation of the members of all nationalities. This is not an “Indian” effort, its an effort supported and organized by all the legal skilled immigrants stuck in visa backlogs.
